Answers for Growing Families

Everything you want to know before your little one’s first day — and a few things you didn’t think to ask yet.

We keep groups intentionally small — a maximum of 6 children per session. This gives Miss Barbara the time to know every child deeply and respond to each one's individual needs.

Maple Grove Preschool serves children ages 2.5 to 5. We have three program tracks: Little Explorers (2.5–3), Growing Minds (3–4), and Kindergarten Prep (4–5).

Yes — because of our small group size, spots fill up quickly, especially for the fall semester. We recommend reaching out at least 3–4 months in advance. Contact Miss Barbara directly to get on the list.

Yes! Maple Grove Preschool operates from a warm, licensed home environment in Maple Grove, MN. The home-based setting is intentional — it's cozy, nurturing, and designed to feel like a second home for your child.

Yes! Our Summer Session runs June through August and emphasises outdoor exploration, nature science, and creative arts. It's a favourite with returning families and a great introduction for new ones.

We follow a published annual calendar shared at enrollment. We close for major federal holidays and a short winter break. Families receive the full calendar well in advance.

We focus on four developmental areas: literacy, math & science, creative arts, and social-emotional skills. Children leave Maple Grove with strong pre-reading skills, number sense, the ability to follow a structured routine, and — most importantly — a love of learning.

We use daily notes, photos, and a monthly newsletter to keep families in the loop. Miss Barbara also does brief end-of-day check-ins and is available via phone and email for anything that comes up.

We ask that children stay home if they have a fever (100°F or higher), vomiting, or any contagious illness. Children may return 24 hours after being symptom-free. This protects everyone in our small group.
