Why Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare Is the Best Choice for Your Child?
Choosing a preschool is one of the most meaningful decisions you will make for your child’s early years. You are not just choosing a place for them to spend their day—you are choosing the environment where they will begin to build confidence, develop friendships, and form their first impressions of learning. At Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare, every detail is thoughtfully designed to give your child the strongest possible start.
What truly sets Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare apart is its unique balance between the warmth of home and the excellence of a high-quality preschool program. Located in a safe, quiet neighborhood, the classroom is intentionally designed within the lower level of a home. This creates a calm, cozy environment where children feel secure, comfortable, and ready to explore. Unlike large, overcrowded centers, your child is not just another face in a busy classroom—they are known, valued, and cared for every single day.
One of the most powerful advantages of Maple Grove Preschool is its low child-to-teacher ratio. With small group sizes, each child receives individualized attention that simply is not possible in larger programs. Teachers have the time and space to truly understand each child’s personality, interests, and developmental needs. This allows learning to be personalized, meaningful, and engaging. Children are not rushed through activities—they are supported at their own pace, building confidence and independence along the way.
Relationships are at the heart of everything. In many childcare settings, high staff turnover can disrupt a child’s sense of security. At Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare, children benefit from consistency and strong, lasting relationships with their teacher. This sense of stability helps children feel safe, which is the foundation for all learning. When children feel secure, they are more willing to take risks, try new things, and grow.
The learning environment itself is intentionally designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. The classroom includes dedicated areas for blocks, art, science, math, literacy, and dramatic play. Materials are thoughtfully selected and rotated based on themes and children’s interests, keeping the environment fresh and engaging. Rather than relying on worksheets or screens, children learn through hands-on exploration, play-based experiences, and meaningful interactions.
Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare also focuses on the whole child. While kindergarten readiness is important, true readiness goes far beyond knowing letters and numbers. Children here develop strong social-emotional skills, learning how to express themselves, solve problems, and build friendships. They gain independence through daily routines and develop language skills through rich conversations, storytelling, and guided play. These are the skills that set children up not just for kindergarten, but for lifelong success.
Another unique aspect of the program is its connection to nature. With a backyard that borders a nature preserve, children have the opportunity to explore, observe, and engage with the natural world. Outdoor experiences are not an afterthought—they are an essential part of the day. This connection to nature supports physical development, curiosity, and a sense of wonder that cannot be replicated indoors.
Families also value the sense of community that Maple Grove Preschool creates. This is not a large, impersonal center—it is a place where relationships extend beyond the classroom. Parents are known, communication is meaningful, and there is a shared commitment to each child’s growth and well-being. You are not just enrolling your child in a program—you are joining a supportive, connected community.
Every detail, from the daily schedule to the carefully planned activities, reflects a deep understanding of how young children learn best. There is a thoughtful balance of structure and flexibility, allowing children to feel secure in routines while still having the freedom to explore and create. Movement, play, and hands-on learning are woven throughout the day, ensuring that learning feels joyful and natural.
Ultimately, what makes Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare the best choice is simple: children thrive here. They feel safe, they feel valued, and they develop a genuine love of learning. Parents can feel confident knowing their child is in an environment that prioritizes quality, connection, and intentional teaching.
If you are looking for more than just childcare—if you are looking for a place where your child will be truly known, supported, and inspired—Maple Grove Preschool and Childcare offers an experience that is both exceptional and deeply personal.

In the first five years of life, a child’s brain grows to 85% of its full capacity. Children begin to form a sense of what is possible and attainable in their young lives, exploring the world around them and finding their place within it. We know the first years of life are critical to a child’s success, but because this complex and rapid development in young children is accompanied by a very diverse set of early childhood education and care programs, having a shared set of expectations and key milestones is the foundation of a successful early childhood education system. In Minnesota, this set of shared expectations is called the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress: Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards (ECIPs).
Recently revised, the state has just released its 2017 ECIPs now available on the MDE website. The revised standards now include ages birth to kindergarten entrance and are aligned with the Minnesota Kindergarten Academic Standards. The areas of learning covered by the ECIPs include:
  • Physical and movement development
  • Social and emotional development
  • Language, literacy and communications
  • Mathematics
  • Scientific thinking
  • Social systems
  • Approaches to learning
  • The arts
I utilize Minnesotas Early Learning Standards as a basis for creating intentional learning experiences in my curriculum, child assessment, and program evaluation.
